What happens during a Gynecology visit?

During a gynecology visit, your provider checks your weight and blood pressure. She collects information about your medical history and will ask if you have noticed any new symptoms since your last visit. Next, your provider performs a physical exam, which may include a breast exam or pelvic screen for common gynecological problems. Depending on your age and personal history, she may also perform a Pap smear. Pap smears help detect cervical cancer in its early stages. During this test, your provider swabs your cervix to collect a sample. Your sample is sent to a lab to test for abnormal or cancerous cells. Your provider also asks about contraception and family planning. She can help you choose a contraception method that’s right for you or advise you on family planning if you intend to become pregnant.

What follow-up care will I receive?

If your examination detects any issues, your provider will conduct follow-up tests and administer appropriate treatments. Rest assured, the compassionate team at Dr. Rogers Centers will stand by you every step of the way, offering unwavering support and expert guidance to navigate even the most complex gynecological concerns.
