Dr. Melissa Kempf
Dr. Melissa Kempf is a family medical doctor who focuses on wellness and preventive medicine, as well as patient education.
After graduating from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in Lubbock Texas, she has become a well-rounded and respected Hill Country Village doctor. Dr. Kempf is board certified in family practics. She blends a traditional approach along with alternative therapy such as hormone manipulation, allergy treatment, weight loss and nutritional therapy for overall wellness.
She has extensive knowledge with food, skin and animal allergies, and does biopsies of skin lesions and moles. Dr. Kempf has integrative therapies for fatigue, menopause, thyroid disorders and slow metabolism including weight loss programs in addition to treating anxiety and depression.
Dr. David Tharakan
Dr. Tharakan is a family medical doctor at Dr. Rogers Centers. Dr. Tharakan earned a Bachelor of Science from Brandeis University and a Masters in Applied Physiology from The Chicago Medical School. He obtained his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School and completed his residency here in San Antonio at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSCSA). He has been in family practice for over 15 years.
Dr. Marius Vulcan
Dr. Vulcan is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and Interventional Pain Management Physician. He obtained his medical degree from the University of South Dakota, then completed his Anesthesiology Residency at Scott and White in 2014. Dr. Vulcan then decided to pursue further training through a Pain Management fellowship at UT Southwestern in 2015. Since then, he has been practicing full-time.
Dr. Vulcan is passionate about Integrative and Regenerative Medicine. This cutting-edge field in medicine strives to utilize the body’s own healing mechanisms to treat diseases and the pain they cause. This approach can significantly reduce unwanted side effects that are oftentimes present when utilizing traditional approaches like medications. He strives to understand and then correct the underlying issue instead of reducing symptoms with medication.
In his spare time, Dr. Vulcan enjoys spending time outdoors, weightlifting, cooking healthy oriental-inspired dishes, and most importantly, being a dedicated father to his amazing children.
Dr. Wendy Askew
Dr. Wendy Askew is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and has the distinction of being one of only seven physicians in San Antonio who is also Board Certified in Anti-Aging, Functional, and Regenerative Medicine. She has practiced medicine for over sixteen years.
She is an expert in all areas of women’s health and is passionate about helping patients maintain their vitality through all stages of their lives.
Dr. Askew graduated from UTSA in 1993, Magna Cum Laude, with her B.S. in Biology, then went to medical school on a military scholarship and served in the USAF for seven years after graduating from residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in 2001. She returned to San Antonio, her home, in 2005 and has been in private practice in San Antonio since 2009.
She is married to Sam and has 2 daughters, Hannah and Sophie. They have 3 rescue pets, 2 canine and 1 feline. Dr. Askew is a terrible cook, but loves traveling, learning, yoga, reading, amusement parks, roller coasters, and spending time with her family and friends.
Charity Weberg, PA-C
Charity Weberg is a board-certified physician assistant and has been working in the field of bariatrics for the last 10 years, both on the surgical and medical side. She was invited by Dr. Rogers to join the clinic in 2007 and has an extensive background in exercise and respiratory therapy, both of which affect overweight and obese patients. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Exercise Science from Iowa State University. Prior to attending PA school at Midwestern University, she was a critical care respiratory therapist in the Dallas, Texas area. She has extensive patient care experience in ICU and Emergency Room environments, and was awarded the Baylor Hospital Garland Five Star Employee Award in 2001. She is a member of American Academy of Physician Assistants, Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and Bexar Country Physician Assistant Society.
When away from the clinic, Charity enjoys spending time away with her family and walking her 2 dogs.
Kristen Morton, PA-C
Kristen Morton is a board certified physician assistant. Kristen chose a career in medicine to help improve the quality of life for patients. She finds working with weight loss patients to be the most rewarding. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Magna Cum Laude) from Schreiner University and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. She received an extensive amount of awards as a student, such as the Sam Junking Character Award and Outstanding Community Service Organization of the Year (as President of Colleges Against Cancer). Kristen understands that obesity is multifaceted and includes behavioral, psychiatric, genetic, and endocrine disorders. Prior to joining Dr. Rogers, she worked in psychiatry and treated patients with eating disorders, disordered eating habits, and other conditions. When not in the clinic, she spends much of her time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, and Relay for Life, just to name a few. She also enjoys salsa dancing, and visiting art exhibits.
Dr. Woodward L. Coleman
Dr. Coleman is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society for Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Association of Hand Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Medical Society and the San Antonio Surgical Society. He holds an appointment as assistant clinical professor for the Division of Plastic Surgery at UT Health Science Center, San Antonio.

Traci Lopez, RN, BSN
Traci was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2004, Traci moved to San Antonio, Texas where she resides today. Traci has three children-Jack, Isabella and Ava.
Traci attended Miami University in Ohio where she obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. Traci worked as a Registered Nurse in an Adult Neurosurgical ICU and a Pediatric ICU/CCU. She also worked as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative with Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals. She has been an Aesthetic Nurse for more than four years, with experience in aesthetics and injectables.
In 2009, Traci started the nonprofit organization Ava’s Wish, Inc. which focuses on working with pediatric patients and family members that have been affected by head trauma. In her spare time, Traci enjoys exercising, especially running and spending time with family and friends.

Candy Garcia, LMA, Lead Aesthetic Specialist
Candy began her career in 2009 working at Spectrum Health Club as an Aesthetic Specialist. She soon realized that medical aesthetics was her passion.
Candy specializes in educating clients on how to care for their skin and which products are best for their particular skin type. She completed her course studies at Milan Institute of Cosmetology in San Antonio. Candy provides treatments ranging from in-depth skin analysis, laser hair removal, skin resurfacing, vein removal, skin tightening, intense pulsed light, body contouring, chemical peels, CO2 laser resurfacing, and medical facials.
Candy is a mother of 3 daughters and loves spending time with her family watching sports, particularly Texas Longhorns and the Denver Broncos. Candy supports the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer, as her best friend has fought breast cancer for 20+ years.
Kimberly Marsalis, Certified Viora Technician
Kimberly is a certified Viora technician with over 3 years experience in face and body treatments. She has been with Dr. Rogers since 2014. “Helping people feel good about themselves makes me feel good!” Kim enjoys Viora because patient care is at the forefront, helping each individual gain self confidence in their appearance.
