Our primary care physicians at Dr. Rogers Centers in San Antonio, Texas, are experts in diagnosing and treating many health conditions. Now that we’re back open, we can help you with everything from primary care to weight loss to hormone therapy. Here’s what you need to know about primary care and COVID-19.
Is it safe to come in?
Our clinic is open and follows local, state, and federal COVID-19 guidelines. Our priority is keeping you, and our staff, safe. You must have an appointment for an exam or bloodwork, and masks are required to come in. We’ve implemented a strict cleaning regimen as well.
Dr. Rogers Centers are now accepting in-office appointments for:
- Annual physicals
- Well-woman visits
- Weight loss program
- Blood pressure checks
- In-office shots
We also offer telemedicine appointments, so you can virtually speak with a provider about your health needs, along with curbside pick-up for supplements, vitamins, and more. Learn more about these services right here on our website.
Recognizing the symptoms of COVID-19
If you’re having trouble breathing or experiencing persistent chest pain, it’s best to call 911 or get to a hospital as soon as possible. If you’re exhibiting milder COVID-19 symptoms, please call us to find out what steps to take. We can also provide guidance on COVID-19 testing.
Symptoms of COVID-19 mimic symptoms for many other illnesses, but they include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Chills
- Muscle pain
- Sore throat
- A loss of smell or taste
If you’ve been diagnosed with COVID-19 and you are well enough to recover at home, stay away from other family members and pets. Rest in a private room with a private bathroom, if possible, to keep from spreading the coronavirus to your loved ones. If you’re near them, always wear a mask and remind everyone to wash their hands often.
Knowing the facts
As primary care physicians, it’s our duty to make sure you have the facts about this deadly virus. As you already know, it’s highly contagious. Adults and children can get it. Social distancing, wearing masks, and handwashing are the best ways to control the spread.
Here are some other things to remember:
- Only use medicine prescribed by our providers or another doctor for COVID-19.
- Never drink, inhale, or eat any type of disinfectant.
- Widespread testing is not yet available, check if you are eligible to get tested in your city.
- Many organizations are working hard to develop a vaccine, but right now there isn’t one.
We’re here for all your primary care health needs during these unprecedented times, and beyond. As this situation unfolds, we’ll post updates on our website about changes to our services or hours.
We hope that we’ve turned the corner with COVID-19 and that life in San Antonio, Texas (and around the world) gets back to a new normal soon. If you’d like to make an appointment with one of our caring and experienced doctors, give us a call or book online on our website. Stay well!
