The Dr. Rogers Difference
Our platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapies offer our patients a comprehensive approach to help optimize their healing. While we offer a variety of package options for various treatment areas, each tendon package includes:
- PRP injection
- 1 hour post-procedure strengthening session with exercise physiologist
Patients are also offered the option to add-on Microneedling with PRP services with our Signature Medspa for an additional fee on the same day as their joint PRP injection treatment.
What is Platelet Rich Plasma?
Although blood is primarily a liquid (plasma), it also contains other components, including platelets. Within platelets are growth factors that may initiate tissue repair. Growth factors derived from platelets have also been shown to be responsible for bone regeneration, development of new blood vessels and stimulation of the wound healing process. The concentrated platelets in PRP may help optimize the conditions for healing.*
Single Spin vs. Dual Spin
Dual spin centrifugation protocol yield an average platelet amount significantly higher (almost 3:1) as compared to single spin units.
Dual spin are used in hospital settings – now here at Dr. Rogers Centers!
What are the benefits?
PRP joints displayed:
- Higher elasticity*
- Higher strength at force-to-failure testing*
- More organized collagen network*
- Increased metabolic activity*
Will PRP help my Arthritis/Osteoarthritis?
150 patients were treated for cartilage degenerative lesions, early and severe OA with intra-articular PRP/HA injections*
PRP produced better clinical scores than HA for early stage osteoarthritis, and was equivalent to HA for late stage OA*
